310CONFIDENCE, of London, two hundred tons, John Gibson, Master. She salled from
Southampton the last of April, "by vertue of the Lord Treasurers warrant of the 11th of
April,1638."
310She later married John, Thomas’ brother, after Thomas’ death. She settled in the Colonies with four of her children.
118After her husband Thomas’ death, it is likely she sent her children Thomas, Edward, and Elizabeth over to the Colonies with friends while she put her affairs in order. She later followed with her daughter Mary in the Confidence, arriving in Hingham, Plymouth Colony in November 1638 where she has five acres for a “house lot.” She subsequently gained other lots for planting, pasture, & meadow. The Hingham house, known as “the Old House,” still stands near a “new” family ouse, Holmwood, built many years later.
