Notes for Nathan W. * WILDER
1850 census
1870 census
1850 census: Resided in Bloom Twp, Cook Co IL in 1850 census, listed as carpenter in Crown Point IN in 1880 census.
118Nathan and family were friends of the Millses in the area when they moved to Crown Point.
791870 census: Shows Nathan and Sarah living in Hobart with “twin” girls aged 10 and Clara 3 years old. The “twins” were Lucy and Minetta, a daughter of Nathan and Bloomy Jane’s. [Reference works only if we use Edna Ruth’s records, which show Minetta as daughter of Nathan and Bloomy Jane, not daughter of Sarah. “Book of the Wilders” shows different records.]
79First wife Bloomey Jane died, leaving Nathan a widower. Son Ernest went to Mary Relief to be raised, “the daughter” may have gone to the grandparents -- no further records.
79Later ER’s notes say Nathan had son named Frank who was a barber in Hobart IN.
McLaughlin was her married name, not her maiden name
Edna Ruth says Bloomy Jane may have died while giving birth to Ernest. He may have gone to Mary Relief to be raised.
