Notes for John * WILDER Jr., Esq.
Known as “John of Nunhide”
“...of Nunhide, in Sulham, Berks, who, gave Sulham House (lately belonging to John Kent*) to his son William, by deed of entail, dated 12 Dec. 1553. His Will was dated 14 Oct. 1588. By Alice, his wife, who, as executrix, proved her husband’s Will 16 Nov. following....”

In John Wilder's will written October 14, 1588 in Sulham, Oxfordshire, England, Alice was named as his wife and executrix. Alice was bequeathed life income from Nunhide Farm in the will of her husband John written October 14, 1588 in Sulham, Oxfordshire, England. Alice (Wilder) wrote her will January 2, 1597/8 in Nunhide, Sulham, Berkshire, England. Alice's estate was probated August 23, 1602 in Archdeacon Court, Berkshire, England.
Rev. Moses Wilder asserted that she was "Alice Keats, daughter and heiress of Thomas Keats, Esq., of the Sulham House." Neither Burke's nor any twentieth century Wilder descendant supports this contention.
